Finding paragraph #3

I have read a lot of statements made through different article writers. The one that really caught my eye was "they teach students that conformity is more important than adaptability and do not prepare young people for the workplace and its emphasis on flexibility and problem-solving.". This really backs up my belief that what we wear to school has nothing to do with what we learn, how much we learn, or how we learn it.

Finding paragrph #2

As I have been researching more and more on my topic I have read many stories about dress code disputes that have actually made it courtrooms. As proven in the stories that i have read, if students go to far and take advantage of the no dress code rule, the jury will side with the school. Read this next quote and you will see what i mean:
If the disputed clothing is obscene, vulgar or worn in a manner that disrupts school activity or causes unrest during the school day, the courts will allow school districts more discretion in prohibiting the clothing

Finding paragraph #1

I  have scanned through my research and findings and i have come to a conclusion. As any person with common sense would know, not any two people are the same. We all have different lifestyle's, opinions, problems, and our own story to tell. But overall, we all have different personalities, and one major way that we use to express our personalities is through what clothes we wear. Not only do I myself believe this but so does a certain Supreme Court. My last statement is proven in the following quote:

'The U.S. Supreme Court has held that individuals can and do wear clothing to express ideas and opinions.'

Quote, paraphrase, and ciatation #5

If the disputed clothing is obscene, vulgar or worn in a manner that disrupts school activity or causes unrest during the school day, the courts will allow school districts more discretion in prohibiting the clothing
This quote basically says that if clothes are worn in such an extreme voulgar manor, the court will give schools a little more leigh way.
.

Quote, paraphrase, and ciatation #4

The U.S. Supreme Court has held that individuals can and do wear clothing to express ideas and opinions.
This quote says that the supreme court mentions that we should wear clothes to express our ideas and opinions. we are not all the same.

Graph/chart/map and citation

This graph is a very good reason why we should not have a dress code. More students oppose the idea instead of agreeing with it.

Wordle: Dress Code Wordle

Quote, paraphrase, and Ciatation #3

Uniforms may not be feasible in high schools, because older students are more independent.
This quote basically says that uniforms might not work out so well in high schools because the older kids are more independent. Which means that they will STRONGLY disagree with dress codes and/or uniforms being inforced.

Just a regular shirt, right? Outside of school, totally, but in school, this shirt would be a HUGE no no! Why? Because this shirt has the word "Beer" written on it. What this has to do with student learning habbits I have no clue.

Quote, paraphrase, and ciatation #2

Some believe uniforms will not erase social class lines, because policies do not apply to other items that can be used to convey status, such as jewelry, backpacks, and bikes.
This quote states that it doesnt matter whether or not students wear uniforms, social groups will still apply because other items can be worn with the uniform to set the students apart.

This is a picture pf a camisole. We are restricted from wearing because thestraps are not wide enough.

Quote, paraphrase, and ciatation #1

That notion is at the heart of similar disputes across the country. As dress codes and  mandatory school uniform policies become more commonplace, students and parents are ending up in courtrooms and jailhouses in their determination to fight back:
Ths quotes simply states the well-known fact that school dress codes and uniform policies have spreaded throughout many school districts. it seems that problems with school dress codes are becoming more and more common. Students and their parents are ending uo in jailhouse's and courtrooms for such problems as this.

What I want to know about my Topic

What i would like to know about my topic would be whether or not administration truely and honestly actually agree with the dress code. I mean, us students are not the only one's with opinions. I know administration have to get tired of dressing up to go to work all the time. It has to be exhausting.

What I already know about my topic

I already know that over half of the students that attend this school strongly disagree with the dress code that we have to follow.I mean, it's obvious that most students like to wear what they want to without being at risk of getting in trouble. Students would probably enjoy school more if the dress code wasn't as strict.

The Story Behind My Topic Choice

The topic that i have chosen to write about is relative to our schools dress code. I strongly disagree with our schools dress code because what we wear to school dpes not effect how we learn. I feel that it should be the student's choice of what they should wear to school because they are the one's who have to wear it. not administration. Also, administration does not pay for the students school clothing. With these reasons, i believe students should be able to wear what they want.
